![]() Nearly a moon has passed since Alderpaw returned from his journey to Sk圜lan’s gorge, where he found the territory taken over by rogues. The warrior cats have enjoyed many moons of peace and prosperity-but a new darkness approaches, and one young apprentice must go on a dangerous quest that will determine the fate of all the Clans. I swear on my life it’s so worth suffering through an arc and a half just to read that one.Embrace what you find in the shadows, for only they can clear the sky. That Super Edition is the best Warriors book I’ve ever read, but it’s set halfway through TBC. That being said, I absolutely recommend reading them for one sole reason: Greystripe’s Vow. People die like it’s going out of style and not only does it lose its meaning after a while, but the amount of plot armor the main characters have is insane. That’s the kind of tonal whiplash to expect. ![]() Then in Chapter 20 people you do care about are being horrifically murdered. It’s all about the main plot which gets old after a while because you don’t care about the characters.Īgain, no spoilers this is just an example, but imagine in Chapter 19 a character is talking with their love interest about something you don’t care about. There’s no border disputes, hunting, training, apprenticeship montages, or anything. “We can’t fight guys! It’s not what Firestar wanted!” Don’t expect a lot of battles. ![]() There is none of the original Clan tension we started with because Firestar’s legacy is looming over everyone. There is no rhythm to the perspective switch. So when the series is fully going you’ve got like 6 perspectives irregularly jumping between Clans. ShadowClan is thrown into the mix here in addition to ThunderClan as the main Clan, as well as a third one halfway through. The lover, the rival, the villain, etc.Īlso without going into spoilers, there’s just too much going on. The old characters you know and love are sidelined in favor of new characters that are just the same old Warriors archetypes.
